Cost cutting to benefit independent teams - Horner

As Formula One goes through changes to reduce operating costs for the competing teams, the aim is to help level out the playing field between the well funded manufacturers and the lower budget independent ones. And it appears that the goals might be reached sooner than imagined, as Red Bull Racing already notice the benefits of reducing wind tunnel usage and testing.

"For an independent team like Red Bull Racing, the rules do create a more level playing field," said RBR team principal Christian Horner to ´autosport´.

And he continued "hopefully, the regulation changes create opportunities and we will be looking to punch above our weight in 2009."
