Briatore awaits football fate

A meeting of the Football League, which will take place today in the UK, will decide on the fortune of Flavio Briatore. The co-owner of the Queens Park Rangers might face the loss of his position as he was banned for life from motorsport by the FIA.

Football League regulations state that any individual to have been banned by a sporting body must be investigated, with a similar punishment being a possible consequence.

Lord Mawhinney, Chairman of the football league, said to the British newspaper 'The Times': "We have a board meeting and have at least a couple of fit-and-proper person issues which we will address. I would like to come out of the board meeting with settled policies in general terms which we can apply to future cases that need to be addressed. I understand what is being said and we will reflect on that as a board."
