Valentino Rossi arrived at the Catalan circuit of Montmelò in the morning on the occasion of two days of testing organised by Ferrari. Before he got into the F2008, the same car he drove at the Mugello circuit in November 2008 and brought to the Spanish track by Maranello’s F1 Clienti department, Rossi spoke to the technicians to deepen his knowledge about the car, used by Ferrari to win the Constructors’ Title.

In Montmelò the single-seater Ferrari F2008 is fitted with Bridgestone GP2 tyres, respecting the current regulations. It is the sixth time for Valentino on board of a Formula 1 single-seater and despite the adverse weather conditions the extraordinary event attracted numerous fans of the Champion from Tavullia to the track’s grandstands since the morning hours.

Rossi drove more than 300 kilometres today, or 68 laps, expressing satisfaction after a briefing with the technicians: “I'm happy. It was a good test, although it was wet in the morning and without grip I had some problems. Fortunately the dried off in the afternoon, I could use the slicks and improve my lap times.” The fastest lap today was driven in 1.25.200. Tomorrow Rossi will go on the track again for the second day of the test sessions.
