Shell-Ferrari contract officially signed

This morning a 5-year renewal of the partnership between Shell and Ferrari has been signed. The news had been anticipated some days before on the occasion of the 450th Formula 1 GP, held in Malaysia, where the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro single-seaters used Shell lubricants and petrol.

Today Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo and Mark Williams, Shell Executive Vice President, officially signed the contract to renew the historical and technological relationship between the two companies, as both men underlined.

“For us Ferrari", Mark Williams said, "is not only sponsorship, but foremost a technological partnership, contributing to the important research work we're doing in the areas of fuel and lubricants. Naturally there are also marketing opportunities: we're talking about two top brands, with enormous tradition and known all over the world for quality and reputation. This confirms a fantastic opportunity.”

“Shell is a historical partner," Luca di Montezemolo added, "it was the first brand on our single-seaters as of the beginning of our history. An innovative partner of high quality, whose research is important for Formula 1 single-seaters, but also for serial production cars. With Shell we've won on race tracks all over the world. I'm glad that this partnership is looking into the future.”
