We'll be ready for Sunday - Fisico

After the first practice of the European GP, the Italian driver of the Mild Seven Renault F1 Team, Giancarlo Fisichalla, explained to us his first day at Nürburgring. Here follows the interview with the Roman.

Giancarlo, what can you tell us after your first day at Nürburgring?

"We waited for the track conditions to improve and we only did our running in the second practice this afternoon. I did 19 laps and our objective was to adapt the car to the demands of the Nürburgring which is a “complete” track."

How did the car work today?

"We were surprised from the level grip of the track. We firstly needed to find a good balance to feel confident in the car and to allow me to push harder. Tomorrow the track conditions will be better for sure and we will work tonight thanks to the data we got today. It will be alright, I am very confident."

Regarding the Michelin tyres, what can you say?

"I think that once again they will perform well. Today, in spite of the poor track conditions, they worked pretty well and they were really consistent, which is essential. The Bridgestones seem to be working well, too. We will see tomorrow what will happen but here it is important to find a good level of grip, especially on the first day. I pretty sure Michelin will have the lead this week end, I am very optimistic."

What do expect of your week end in Germany?

"I know that we have a good car, that the tyres perform well and I am sure we will be ready for Sunday afternoon to fight for the win. That’s my goal, since the beginning of the season."
