It was another hot and sunny day in Monza for the second day of the test with ambient temperatures of 31˚c. Jenson Button joined the team, taking over in chassis RA106-02 from Anthony Davidson. After a couple of acclimatisation runs, he concentrated on finding a good balance in the car throughout the morning session in readiness for an intensive tyre programme.

Jenson began the tyre evaluation at the start of the afternoon, looking at the options for the Italian Grand Prix next weekend. Despite continuous circuit red lights which interrupted running throughout the day, Jenson completed 107 laps in total, 49 laps in the morning and 58 laps in the afternoon.

In chassis RA106-06 Rubens also spent the morning session finding a good set-up, followed by a short tyre evaluation. He worked on tyre evaluations during the afternoon, alongside some electronics set-up work. Rubens completed 75 laps today, 34 laps in the morning and 41 laps in the afternoon.
