Mechanical failure for Hamilton

Both Pedro de la Rosa and Lewis Hamilton continued with the Bridgestone Potenza assessment work alongside ongoing evaluation of the brakes and the aerodynamic programme. Running was limited in the morning after rain left the track conditions unsuitable for the dry Bridgestone tyres.

Lewis suffered a mechanical failure on his right rear wheel assembly, which caused him to stop out on track. Lewis then spent some time in the garage in the afternoon as the team changed set-ups as part of the scheduled evaluation process, before the Brit returned to the track to continue his programme.

Tomorrow Mika Hakkinen and Lewis Hamilton will wrap up the Barcelona test.
