Teams to test at Malaysia

The Formula One Teams, who had been pushing for an official test session during the three-week break after the opening race in Australia and the race in Malaysia, get a three-day test. The test session will be held from 27-29 March in Malaysia.

The Sepang International Circuit (SIC) national press officer, Azhar Ghazali, said: "It is further recognition of our efforts to make the circuit in Sepang as a hub of motorsports in Asia. Almost all the F1 teams are based in Europe and it would make sense for them to commit their personnel to test the cars in Sepang instead of flying them back to the other side of the globe."

"Most of the F1 teams also have their own test drivers. But the main drivers are expected to take part in the testing session in Sepang because of the official status."
