Zanardi to participate in NY marathon
Alex Zanardi will participate in the marathon of New York on Sunday 4 November. The 40-year old driver lost his legs with a crash in 2001 and will for this reason use a handbike to complete the 42 kilometre long course.
Zanardi said: "It will be very hard, but because I have to do everything with my arms since my accident, my upper-body is very strong, so I guess it must be possible. I will start training very hard from this week."
