Kazuki Nakajima's first appearance during a Grand Prix race was overshadowed by the fact that he ran over some of the Williams mechanics during his pitstop. During the Brazilian race, tv spectators could see that two of them were brought to the hospital for further check-ups after the incident.

Kazuki Nakajima said after the race: "I would say I'm really sorry that some of my mechanics were injured during my pitstop and that I hope they're ok."

Technical Director at Williams, Sam Michael, declared: "Obviously our first concern is with our mechanics who were injured during Kazuki's pitstop, they are undergoing medical checks at the moment."
