B3 Technologies Ltd today announced that agreement has been reached for founder and owner John Barnard to sell his shares in the organization to a new consortium headed by B3’s former commercial director, John Minett. Former senior F1 engineers Steve Nichols and Matthew Jeffreys join as directors to bolster the technical team within the company.

At the launch CEO John Minett said: “Born out of the F1 industry, B3 Technologies has a long tradition of supplying high quality design and manufacturing services to F1 and other industries. It is a superb foundation on which to build”.

B3 technologies was founded by John Barnard after buying Ferrari Design and Development from the Scuderia. The company consequently started working for Arrows and Tom Walkinshaw. The deal turned sour in the middle of 1998, partially because Barnard was also performing subcontractual work for Prost Grand Prix. When the dispute was settled, Barnard continued to lead B3 while also consulting Prost.

B3 has to this date worked in various areas of motorsport, aerospace, defence, medical instrumentation and specialist engineering for high performance vehicles.
