Frustrating day full of problems for Red Bull

By on

It was a difficult day for the Red Bull Racing Team. David Coulthard was not able to come in action during the second free practice session as the team was still repairing his RB4. Team mate Mark Webber, who suffered an engine failure in the morning was able to collect a lot of data for the team in the afternoon. Hopefully for Red Bull, they'll have more luck tomorrow during the qualifying session.

David Coulthard, 1st Practice P16: For reasons stated in our previous press release (http://www.f1technical.net/news/8547) put out earlier today, David Coulthard did not take part in this afternoon's practice session.

Mark Webber, 1st Practice P17, 2nd Practice P16: "We lost some running in the first session due to an engine failure. The second session went better and we got quite a few laps in, so we've got some good data to go through tonight. We still need to find more pace though."

Christian Horner: "It's frustrating for David that he wasn't able to take part in the second practice session, due to a suspected track rod issue, which is very much a one off. In order to ensure that his car is fully checked over we decided to use the time sensibly this afternoon and he will resume driving duties tomorrow. Mark ran to a solid programme this afternoon and seems reasonably happy with the balance of his car, so we look forward to tomorrow."
