McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has apologised to Ferrari man Kimi Raikkonen after the incident in the pitlane. Raikkonen stopped at the red light at the exit of the pitlane, but Hamilton drove straight into the back of the F2008. Both drivers were forced to retire after the accident.

Lewis Hamilton said: "It wasn't a great stop. I saw the two guys in front battling in the pitlane and all of a sudden they stopped. I saw the red light but by the time I stopped it was too late.

"I apologise to Kimi if I cost him the race, but these sort of things happen."
