Julien very kindly stayed up to have a 1 on 1 Hangout with me at 10.30am this morning.
He clarified my OpenFOAM installation and also used the Hangout Remote Desktop feature to set my Swak4FOAM installation up before heading off to bed =D>
The guy has been a true legend with all the one on one time he has given me in recent weeks, I will give a donation on the Khamsin website at some point, wont be much because of my financial situation but will be something nonetheless.

I have had an issue with remote analysis though, I have tried to use Khamsin on my WinPC and use the remote feature to run the simulation across my network on my Linux Laptop, the files were transferred automatically but the simulation didnt seem to run, I have sent Julien an email to get clarification on why it hasnt worked as expected, in the mean time I will try and run the simulation using the commands Julien gave me the other week (that I posted via the Pastebin link a few pages ago).
Once I have everything up and running hopefully I can help others like I have with my previous tutorial style posts.

A quick reminder to everybody, if possible we would like some renders of your car to put on our website. We won't be uploading them until after the 1st race so there is still some time.

If you can just remember to include the logos, your team name and number somewhere in the picture (doesn't have to be on the car it can be on a background sign for instance)

As this is the first race, i will try and send out the illegal car notifications on Sat PM instead of Sun PM so everyone gets an extra day to amend and re-submit if they choose. Obviously you might not have time and prefer to just take the 10 sec penalty. You get until Tue 23:59 to re-submit

Normally the e-mails will be sent out Sun PM

The first links refers to the forum topic WITH the logos (only the picture on my website are not complete). Let me know if the resolution is high enough.

Update:

Because there are a majority of illegal cars, and this is the first race we will be moving the re-submission round for illegal cars forward 24hrs. i.e instead of sending out the e-mails Sunday PM and they need to be resubmitted by Tuesday PM. I will be sending these out tomorrow.

My car has been processed and I receveid the report from Hibou: not completely satisfied about the results, but it's my first KVRC race and my target is to make my CFD code and Khasmin work well together. I'm starting the design of a new car for the next race in a couple of days.

Have you got around to checking mine Luke?
If not, is there any chance of giving it a once over asap?
I'm flying to Ireland in an hour so if anything needs amending I will have to get my Mrs to change some of the newer components since you last checked with older ones just for legality in the first race.

I have a question about CFD model: would it be possible to know the turbulence parameters (k-epsilon or k-omega?)

I'm having trouble displaying the result files in paraview, when I open the .foam file it only picks up the 0 timestep, and the mesh seems to have the domain but no car.

I haven't any trouble about it, the problem was that my car didn't work as I expected

I don't know about this side of it really (in terms of what the portal gives you). I've got mine sent to me so i will have a play when i get home and see what i get

I found this last year, it never does. The rotating wheels change things no end.

The size of the zip file in the email I got was about 20mb. Is yours bigger?
