I´m trying to get the 2012 regulations for weeks.
Even in 2011 you would have been allowed to use 2 door cars. So I think this is an agreement between the manufacturers to use 4 door or 2 door cars respectively.
AFAIK only the monocoque is a standard part.

I think it should be just a matter of time. After all they do release the 2011 DTM tech/sporting regs

slightly off topic, but so. Tomczyk is the reigning world champion; but we're ending this season with an Esktrom that's massively on form; with 3 wins and a 2nd place out of the last 4 races (sound familiar?)

Thanks for the reply, so the reason is technical, on the other way is just me or the swan neck system make the car very very ugly!

Other question i have desire to discuss here if you guys have the kindness to reply is the overal width of the cars, 2011 regulations alow the maximum width of 1950 mm, this rule will be the same for 2012 regulations so i made my calculations and having a base car with 1821 mm like the bmw m3, substracting the 1821 from 1950 the result is 129 mm wider, this number divided by 2 is something like 65 mm for each side, my question is dtm cars just have 6,5 cm of wider wheel arch? or they look wider in my eyes or there is some numbers or calculations that i dont know about! please coment!

As far as I know, the cars will be wider.
But as mentioned above, the regulations are not released yet.
BTW: The width for 2011 is 1850mm without mirrors.

No not realy true, 2011 regulations sets the max wider of the cars without mirrors in 1950 mm and not 1850 mm and the next year cars where build with this width but things can change easy, there still is pleanty of time till next year first round!

Where do you have this info from?
DMSB wrote:Article 5.1.5: The bodywork width of the car without homologated external view mirrors must not exceed 1850 mm.
