In the meanwihile another question.
Could you confirm that every part of the front wing (nolder included) must me 10mm thick (at least)?

.skp ideally, .stl otherwise. to check some areas i may need to delete a face (obviously will undo and won't be saved)
K5.3 (Front Wing) (Dark Blue)
Any bodywork more than 685mm from the car centre line and more than 450mm ahead of the front wheel centre line, must be at least 10mm(***) thick (being the minimum distance when measured normal to the surface in any direction).
so basically your endplate area

quick question, as i've got a meeting with Julien set up this weekend. Has anyone got any feedback/suggestions of how they would like the results presented etc etc.
was everyone happy with how it was last year or are there any other ideas people would like to suggest. I haven't got any, just its on our agenda so if anyone has anything please speak
one thing i am keen to change is that although pictures of the cars will be shown, the cfd isn't

Why not?
If I was Julien I wouldnt be happy with that idea as its not showing off what his plugin can do.
Just use CFD pictures without any data visible (no scale etc) if you dont like that everyone can see the results on each car.

i see your point. Its on the agenda to discuss. I think there could be better ways to demonstrate his product than those images

i have no problems having my car shown with pressure distribution on its surface...actually i really like to see how the different solutions compare (we're here to learn, after all). Just...let's not show too much...
As for the results, i simply suggest to show a lot of cool pictures in order to attract more people. ...and unlike last year, let's keep the standings updated

the standings page will certainly be updated and kept clear. Most likely be in the format it is on the website at the moment.
Give me an example of what you would define as a cool picture? I just don't think those pictures last time did anything justice - but i'm not sure what else we could do.
what about if we focused it more on the stream lines (flow)?

well, yes, for example it would be woth showing some cfd pic (yeah, streamlines, pressure distribution or whatever...) and also some renderings of our models...i'll publish some in the next ours, and if you'll like them, feel free to use them. Other people could do the same...etc...

ok so make the cfd images more 'attractive'
what about on the main registration every team pics a colour for the team and then any renders of there car must be this colour. so for example, mine would be the KVRC blue (obviously parts can still be black like the floor, suspension, tyres or silver for the exhaust).
I know people would like multiple colours but with one colour its very easy to do in sketchup by just adding colour to the faces?

I think it's a good idea to choose a color.
Would it be possible to upload a rendering made by myself?

something a lot of people do (or done last year) is create there own topic in the engineering projects section. Title it "KVRC [team name] [car name]". Then they kept it up to date throughout the season with picture of car release then updates for each race after the submission date.
Heres mine

you'll find others page 2-3
CSR

he mostly updated his after the challenge finished with closed images and detailed explanations
Site wise me and julien are talking about team pages on Sat. If we will have them etc. Although before the first race i want to try and get all registered teams to send a picture of there car in there team colour. We can't do too much at them moment team/site wise because all teams are only pre-registered. Last year a lot of teams didnt continue there interest. And obviously teams don't know there colour or number
I'd imagine each registering teams will choose three number and three colours. Working on a first come first serve.

I was wondering were to find SktechUp 7 (or

to work with Kashmin.
The official SketchUp website allow to download only the new release (maybe 12 o 13) that doesn't work with Khamsin.
I've also downloaded Khamsin, but I could not understand if it will be possible to use a free version for the challenge or it will be necessary to buy it (it would not be a problem beacuse the software itsself is very interesting, despite the limit of working only with the old release of sktechup).

this should be 8:
http://google-sketchup.en.softonic.com/
you don't need to buy khamsin you get it for free
on that, just a reminder to everyone. If you have the latest sketchup (i think its 13), please make sure when you submit or e-mail me your car to check you send it as a sketchup 8 version. You do this by selecting sketchup 8 on the drop down box under save as

A pre-season test is going to be planned? It wouyld be useful to "calibrate" our virtual wind tunnels
