For the 2003 season, Takuma moved to B.A.R. as test driver and drove the final race of the season as replacer of Jacques Villeneuve. He was granted a raceseat alongside Jenson Button during the next two years. After the 2005 season, Sato moved to the all new, Japanese team, Super Aguri.
