That seems a terrible shame it's a lovely circuit.

Long straights and chicanes where you actually get overtaking and walls that drivers who make mistakes get punished by.

There's not much we can do. Just, seeing that Montreal has been replaced by Abu Dhabi, we can try & prepare ourselves mentally to see Monza replaced by India in 2010

I strongly recommend using this rare opportunity to convert that rant into something constructive. There's a question about heritage and venues like Monza as well. Some of te options don't look too adequate but still I used the chance to note my support to the aspects of F1 that I consider quite vital.

This is a shame but frankly not unexpected. The loss of Indy has a knock on effect as cost for air travel to only one north american race is prohibitive. there is no such thing as a free lunch from Bernie and if nobody is prepared to pay the additional cost he was always expected to drop it. this is also an indication that the restituition of a proper US GP is some years off if they can ever put one togehter again.

Great, now no North American F1 venue. With Indy or any other USGP a few years out there's really nowhere feasible for many people in North America to see a F1 race in person for a few years.

I was planning on going to the Canadian GP next year since I could possibly afford it, but since I'm a college student there's no way I'll be able to go anywhere else. Thanks Bernie.

2005 will be remember as the last championship fought on all the Big ones (Monza, Silverstone, Spa, Suzuka, Montreal). And if you want to add the Brickyard, you have to dig down to 2004, since 2005 was the year of the Michelin fiasco.

Not that the Indy infield was a great track (far from it IMO), but it made at least for an American race... Combined with the canadian GP the travel over the pound often acted as a turning point in seasons.

Canada was one of the best and most exciting races on the calendar for the last 10 years or more, and to just drop it in favour of other crapy gp´s isn´t right Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it

It is a shame, they go and cry at the teams because the races arent interesting but why isnt it? They replace all good tracks by some modern shitty tracks where overtaking is impossible and where the only fun of the race is 1 safety car. All those real race tracks gonna be replaced, see Silverstone, Montreal, San Marino and many others, those tracks get replaced by some boring races, see Singapore, Valencia, Turkey, China, abu dabhi. All those races were boring, and why do they get replaced? Because bernie doesnt get enough money of them. I dont know what the --- is wrong with him, he only thinks about money, i mean he is 80 years old(at least) and then he still thinks about money?
