The concept of the two teams are closer than any other but the application is totally different. Merc have gone to huge lengths to remove any body work from above the front wing whilst Ferrari have the most "blocked" nose of all it seems.
Can anyone render a n F14T with the latest Merc nose?

“If you look around in the pit lane you’ll see there’s a different nose on every car,” Allison commented. “And there’s not too much similarity between any of the cars.”

“The reason for that is the nose rules allow quite a lot of geometrical freedom. So you go off exploring that freedom. The reason there isn’t a single solution is it’s not actually that sensitive an area so there’s lots and lots of different solutions that work.

No offense to u Emerson.F ...That has to be the least interesting video ever. If I hear the expression that a F1 car is like a upside down fighter jet 1 more time I'm gonna scream. TELL ME about what you're doing!!!!

OK, I get they're struggling...but do they have to bore me to tears too?

i dnt know whether its issue with my eyes or car is seriously looking very well sorted, specially under braking. i dnt think they are going to be faster than merc but in terms of balance i think f14T is there. i think second practice gonna reveal more on pace.

Interesting to note that the Merc is on 7th gear and faster. While it seems the ferrari is flat out on 8th gear with a lower speed.

Is it just me on the curve profiles seem to be more distinct on the nose?

"...and there, very much in flames, is Jacques Laffite's Ligier. That's obviously a turbo blaze, and of course, Laffite will be able to see that conflagration in his mirrors... he is coolly parking the car somewhere safe." Murray Walker, San Marino 1985

Encouraging to see Ferrari testing the new front brake ducts and blow wheel hub and instantly put on the car in Shanghai... I've always maintained I'm a layman in technical stream but this is a great sign for our team.

Note the throttle graph, very often i see the Ferrari not on full throttle, but on 99%.. why?

The speed trap readings at Practice 2 were 331 for both Merc drivers and 326-327 for Ferraris.

I wonder if it is possible to use 8th gear in the race as a sort of economy gear to safe fuel.

Doesn't matter which gear your in ..it matters how much throttle you have applied. BTW that image of the ferrari, I beleive to be of the Gear being changed to 8th but the rev's not having dropped???? Can't see how they make it to 326 otherwise.
