I wonder if other teams have recieved the 2010 tires from BS or is that a luxury only afforded to Ferrari.

180-190kg seems a bit much even for what some consider the very thirsty Ferrari engine.

Why are the teams still adding the 15kg more of ballast when they have already gotten rid of KERS? Especially with the heavy race fuel loads and the smaller tires.

The tender for the tires meant that no team was to be given an advantage, and the tires were to be given out randomly to the teams, lottery style.

Ferrari are not allowed to get any special treatment from Bridgestone anymore. If they did, it would be a breach of the contract they got as being the sole supplier.

Parity was required, or there was no point in going spec tire.

If Ferrari can order tires to fit to the car, any other team can as well.

It is just that I havent heard of any other team already running the 2010 front tires in the wind tunnel. not that I'm privy to all that much F1 insider info

Maybe was Ferrari running with composite 2010 tyres? Sauber used to do this.

From the tire war days the front tires aero profile/shape seemed to be extremely important to the overall aerodynamics... running them in the wind tunnel before anyone else would constitute a large advantage.

True, but what makes us think that others don't have them as well? I'm sure that with the tyres being narrower, that leave a whole lot more undirected air that has to go somewhere. With the wheel covers banned this will be even more of an issue.

I dont know, thats why i asked, I just havent heard of anyone having and running them in the wind tunnel already.

The plan to make the front tires smaller only materialized recently, the 2010 tires that all the teams ran in winter testing were the same size as this years, and were supposedly designed to run without tire warmers, but both those plans have been recently scrapped.

I have a feeling that as soon as the "narrow tyre" idea came to light, all the Bridgestone cell phones went off at the same time along with call waiting and "send us some tyres" text messages.
