HRT F111 Cosworth

It will be a new car for 2011 they will use, they will use the F110 as an interim, but at the Bahrain test they will introduce their new car!

I didn't realise they were creating a 2011 car, what I thought what was originally happening was a heavily updates 2010 chassis, as was mentioned on the HRT F110 thread.

bar555, my stats friend... Guess what ive just started to get ready for next week???

Back on topic... Im expecting the new F111 to be a completly diffrent beast, a step behind again, but if they do what they did last year, and finish ahead of Virgin, they will have a vastly better season in 2012. At least they arnt as far behind as 2010.

They will be far behind Virgin again, who got proper money, now with the title sponsorship and the shares the team has more money to spend on development, it will come out quicker.

Anyway OT: I wonder where they manage to get the resources and especially manpower fom to design a car, they could hardly build part last year, let go design anything. Isnt it funny that any other team has gave disgn guidelines which will loosely tell hw it looks and release teasers and from HRT we hear nothing, even when asked so, there is no real car is my quick guess

This is nothing more than a funny story to make them look good for 2 weeks or so, I really doubt there is any car, it is just same as with assigning Karthikeyan as driver and this ´big sponsorship money which will be annonced next week´ which was at least a month ago, I dont even think they will make it to the grid.

this is the umpteenth time i'll say something about this but seriously.

HRT's PR last year was definitely not the greatest, BUT they did beat Virgin to 11th place, doesn't matter if they have 10 drivers or 2, they did it. second they beat them on merit. Their car was more reliable and there wasn't a major design flaw from an experienced F1 designer with 20+ yrs exp.

They also showed the car wasn't as bad as predicted by keeping their gap to Virgin the entire year even while Virgin was upgraded.

layoff all the bad comments or negativity or jokes or whatever.

I'm certain Geoff Willis or Colin Kolles wouldn't continue to be involved as they both have their own engineering firms to maintain if they aren't making money in F1. I seriously doubt Geoff Willis would have any problem getting a job either and wouldn't want to taint his reputation on a ghost car.

Does anybody know where the new car is being built? I don't really know anything about HRT facilities...

To hear that HRT will build an entirely new car for 2011 is a big surprise to me.

I thought this team was doomed.

Asside his drivel on Force India today, Joe Saward has done some decent jurnalism today on the Hispania car; http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2011/01/ ... n-germany/

So, we can conclude their supplychain is like this:

Transmission/Rear Suspension: Williams F1
Drivetrain: Pankl Racing Systems (Shouldnt this be Cosworth or Williams???) [http://www.pankl.com/]
Chassis Production: Carbo Tech Composites Gmbh [http://www.carbon.at/en/]
Electronics: McLaren Electronics Systems

Considering that Geoff Willis is a contempoary designar, and those companies have pedegree, i am pretty confedent that Hispania will make progress with this car, maybes they will attache themselvs to the Sauber/Force India/STR/Team Lotus battle, all depending on how things go early season.

If true, this is good news. F1 needs the new baby teams to grow up and be representative, not backmarker jokes. Can it be true (as reported in Racecar Engineering, I think) that HRT had practically NO design revisions last year (except to the mirrors if IIRC)??

I think we all have a duty to suppor the smaler teams, Minardi spirit and all.

Its only good news, as you read the same article as me from RE magazine, and that coorelates to a article i read in Race tech magazine last year as well.

Hopefully they can show up with Version 1 Revision 1 and not Version 1 Revision 0 and go from there. And if they do the weight relief that they did with the F110 to the F111 and make it faster development wise, they will indeed make Virgin look more than a little silly again.
