No, if 2010 had the use of DRS it "would have been" fastest, maybe also 2012 and 2013.
You can not apply your "if's" selectively.

Ok, point is - around that circuit at least- these cars are in the same ballpark as post 2009 era already. 4 secs faster will make them extremely fast - then we just need tyres they can push with a bit more throughout the race.

Agreed, But aero needs to changed as well. There's no point in having a car that's a few seconds faster when you can't follow another car in the corners. Faster cars only mean the races will end faster.

"“Yes, I know there were many rumours but the truth is there was nothing out of the ordinary, no loss of performance,” Gutierrez told the Spanish broadcaster Movistar in Bahrain.
Haas team boss Gunther Steiner confirmed that Gutierrez had not suffered a failure of any sort."

You've got to love how every failure of high(ish) profile driver is immediately followed up by made up excuses, if you cause a crash it's "brake testing" if you mess up a simple overtake it's a car problem or Maldonado was worse.

Politics or some Insurance thingy Ron has on Alonso?
Otherwise, it should be Alonso' decision whether he wants to take the risk of injury..
