cant quite see why mclaren was so slow even with the heaviest car in the last top 10.

He was fueled the heaviest and I think he only ran the primes in Q3 ... that equals super slow(still faster than a lighter Buemi) but good strategy for the race.

nah, he was definitely on the option tyre...not sure if used a new set mind you

ok thanks for the correction, those green stripes can be hard to see... especially at 3:30 AM!

I have guestimated a 2.8Kg fuel erosion per lap

Sebastian Vettel 644 KG's - 15 laps
Fernando Alonso 637 KG's - 13 laps
Mark Webber 646.5 KG's - 16 laps
Rubens Barrichello 661 KG's - 21 laps
Jenson Button 659 KG's - 20 laps
Jarno Trulli 664.5 KG's - 22 laps
Nico Rosberg 650.5 KG's - 17 laps
Kimi Raikkonen 673.5 KG's - 26 laps
Lewis Hamilton 679 KG's - 28 laps
Sebastian Buemi 673 KG's - 26 laps
Nick Heidfeld 679 KG's - 28 laps
Heikki Kovalenien 697 KG's - 34 laps
Filipe Massa 690KG's - 31 laps
Timo Glock 652 KG's - 18 laps
Kazuki Nakajima 682.7 KG's -29 laps
Sebastian Bourdais 690 KG's -31 laps
Nelsihno Piquet 697.9 KG's - 34 laps
Robert Kubica 659 KG's - 20 laps
Adrian Sutil 648 KG's - 16 laps
Fishichella 679.5 KG's - 27 laps

I believe that BGP have the strongest race strategy. I also believe that Ross out thought RBR and made them think they were are fast as BGP. They then went on to light fuel the car and compromise their own strategy. Great tactics from Ross and the BGP in my opinion.

Nah, I'm pretty sure the race strategy is 90% decided before qualifying. The reason Red Bull went lighter than Brawn in Q3 is probably simply that they can't make as many laps on the super-softs as Brawn before they go bad.

Red Bull, Alonso and probably Brawn, Trulli and Rosberg will start on the super-softs (as well as Glock, Kubica and Sutil) while the rest of the grid will start on the mediums.

As for the race, I expect Alonso to move backwards, while Brawn, and Hamilton (helped by KERS), will move towards the front. But Red Bull may well win, if the car holds together...

I'm sure your right about Hamilton. IF he can manage his tyres through that long 1st stint then he could feature on the podium.

Yeah and to be fair to Hamilton and his fuel load, he could have put in a better qualifying lap if button did not obstruct his race line. There was quite a bit of traffic in the last minute of the race, so he had to settle for the time he set before he last went into the pits.

Kovalinen and Heidfield are driving fuel tankers  maybe he could give lewis a splash and dash out on the track. =D>

Car + fuel + driver. Car + driver without fuel is 605.

With the restraints on car/fuel/driver weights - the addition of KERS really does compromise certain teams with heavier drivers i.e. Kubica, Webber etc versus the jockey sized guys when it comes to moving ballast around to get a better balanced car - do you think there will be any moves to adjust the min weight area to accommodate the larger frame drivers? Secondly do you think KERS will be around in its current form as it appears at best it is only a strategic 'option' at the moment....... :)
