I think Norris is quicker than Max he just hasn't got the car to fight and unfortunately McLaren will never deliver him a contender. RedBull is just too evolved compared to Mclaren.
Based on anything ?
Gap to Sainz as a rookie and his development after that.

There actually is some merit in thinking Lando is quicker than Max. I don’t think so but I do rate him highly. This website (link hereunder) uses a calculation to try and compare real performance of drivers.

In 2022 Lando was actually the best performer;

https://f1-analysis.com/2022/11/22/2022 ... /3/#s-tier

Make of it what you will. A calculation exercise, but to me, it comes quite close almost each year to how my “feeling” of how drivers actually performed is.
Nice post. People think i was just talking out my azz.. But i have an "eye" for who is fast after watching so many seasons of F1.

I perfectly understand why Hamilton fans can't accept that Max is a generational talent. It's a polarizing sport. It's human nature to talk down the guy who everyone says is better than 'my hero'. We see this all the time - Messi v Ronaldo , Federer v Nadal, Lara v Tendulkar , etc. Understandable. I'm sure Sam Collins too fell prey to this 'my guy, not the other guy' syndrome.
Wait a second though.. How is saying Lando is quicker is a diss to Max? I don't understand that one. And I don't understand how Lewis Hamilton entered the conversation?

Really the tribal behaviour has to stop. It's best to have a discussion about a differing opinion or just ignore the opinion.

Now that car stopped on track will allowed to rejoin qualifying, I am sure it will be used tactically to benefit teams.

If you want it to stop, don't start it. Starting with " I think X is quicker than Y" has never led to a normal discussion here.

Not only there’s precedent for legality of what happened in China… there’s precedent for illegality of doing it on purpose.

Suggest, then I suggest to ad Alonso. I would go a bit further than merely suggesting it. I would firmly advise to do so.
I meant to have him in there already.

Sainz was hardly some veteran, and still outscored Norris even in their second season together.

Max also beat Sainz as a rookie and has undoubtedly developed since then as well, with how incredibly green Max was coming into F1.

So unless you're saying that Max came into F1 at the height of his abilities and only Norris had any great potential to improve, which would be a bizarre argument on its own, I cannot understand your opinion here at all.

I understand your point, and there might be some validity to it. But then again, there's so many parameters involved.
But I agree Lando is right up there talentwise, hope for him he gets his win finally this year just so that's off of his shoulders, and that McL is chasing the right path to close the difference.

Or doing a tactful spin and the somehow stalling.

Stupid precedence here. Should be 30seconds being stopped on track with wheels/car stationary. If you can’t move in that time or are beached in gravel - your out.

Even teams acknowledged it in an earlier briefing…. And the stewards. ‘How long is too long’
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.

No. The difference is that Sainz had no time and no need to ruin other attempts given he had nothing to defend.

This is a good point. It is going to happen.
