I'm curious about these. It's obviously a non-rotating part, and looks like it's creating an outwash? Am I correct?

But isn't the wheel fitting over these with a cover that prevents outwash? What am I not understanding properly about the intended effect of these?

I haven't seen any other photos of a team with fins like this on the brake covers.

Like you said the wheel will spin. This will cause the air to spin in there and the rim will block the exit to the outside but I think that's trying to pull the air inwards instead of staying stagnant in an effort to decrease hotspots.

Ahhh, thanks, I didn't think about the effect of wheel spinning affecting them.

So it's more about brake temperature control than directing air. Interesting solution , and I remember the AMR23 having some brake temp issues.

I don't know if this was noted here before but there is a significant change to the floor leading edge inboard. Would love to see better pictures to compare changes more in detail.

Another thing that I've noted are new (not yet used during the race this season) winglets on the rear wing endplates. Solution used last year by Alpine and Aston, this year more teams have joined with their (very similar) designs.

I think we might see this RW being used by Aston on some high-downforce demanding tracks.

That's just extra cooling. If anything, it would hurt aero. It's a must so they're gonna find ways to minimise that loss. You want as much hot air hitting the beam wing.

When you mentioned that I looked for pictures of the gills below the cannons at the rear. They're still there.

There was also mention that the didn't use all the upgrades in Japan. Maybe that's what they are. The turbine is there, maybe the just need better flow tgere. Whatever it is, it's not a big change.

Iirc saudi was something to do with front brake drum and Australia they adjusted the front wing flaps. I wonder what they saw in terms of development potential
