Random race images

Please discuss here all your remarks and pose your questions about all racing series, except Formula One. Both technical and other questions about GP2, Touring cars, IRL, LMS, ...

Post Tue Sep 01, 2009 10:40 pm

Sometimes I find interesting pics of other series, but don't want to start a new thread for that series race or for the series itself. Therefore I have started a thread for random pics of random racing series.

Feel free to contribute and discuss.

My two for the day...

Interesting to see that the corvette and porsches need their tracks widened for racing, whereas the ferrari doesn't (unless I am mistaken).

Pretty sure that back end of the Ferrari is much wider than stock. Ferraris don't leave the ship with body kits slapped on. All race cars are widened to the max they can be, there is little reason to not.

The Corvette C6.RGT is a whopping 2.7 inches wider than the stock ZR1. That's not really 'needing' to widen it.

Risi Competitzione do not provide any tech specs that I can find.

Would be nice to see people at least try to do some fact checking around here.

What I find quite interesting from that shot is the Penske driver seems to be sunk further into the car! Compared to the other drivers/pilot.

I've read it was the only GT40 with a steel monocoque, all the rest were aluminum.

They probably circulated like that for several laps ;) .

OK I'm envious about a race series that can have 3 cars abreast like that. However, I just don't "get" oval racing. :(

Picture request: a high res image of the 1999 BTCC Honda Accord on-track.

And no, not a Google Images job - I've already searched that multiple times ;)

Thanks in advance :D

This one, just so you know...
