Why did Lotus choose Fauzy over Yoong?

Any opinions as to why they chose Fauzy over Yoong for their reserve driver role? I mean, Yoong was once a Formula One driver.... he didn't amount to much (I still think his greatest feat was to be the partner of the guy who finally beat MS in MS's heyday ), but he was one...

Yoong is head of young driver development at Lotus IIRC. I'd imagine he might wind up being an emergency reserve should one of their drivers be unable to race and Fauzy doesn't have/loses his Superlicence.

Reasonable pace shown by lotus considering Fauzy is as good as if not worse than Yoong was.

Easy. Yoong was completely off the pace and just not F1-calibre. Not sure about Fauzy but Yoong won't get a second chance IMO.
