Back then, car numbers were fixed by team and the former champions would trade numbers with the new one. So, after trading their 11&12's with Lotus because of snatching their champion numbers for 1980, they took the 27&28 from 1980 champions Williams.

I mentioned the Sharknose, but I have to admit the Gurney Eagle MK.1 was a thing of beauty. Simplicity of engineering in all its glory. Everything the perfect machine should be.

The Sharknose though, is the perfect example of sleekness. Everything about it screams "slide through air like a shark through water". It's got a natural side to it that would go well with an Art Deco surrounding.

And just the collectors on that Honda RA273 are quite something, like an ice cream topping on a delicious pie.

Told ja I had a thing for cigar cars...
