Hey folks. Just wondering. Given that RBR would probably have an empty chair for 2013; the last 2 2012 STR seats could be the most coveted ones left on the grid (barring Rosberg, who if memory serves hasn’t got a contract yet? I could be wrong).

Who do you all see at STR for 2012, and at both RB teams in 2013?

Personally I see for next year Alguersuari still in Toro Rosso; but I’m split on Dan Ric vs JEV on the other Toro Rosso seat. While I’m sitting on the fence on that one I’m kind of leaning towards JEV edging the seat – just.

In 2013 I see Alguersuari partnering Seb; and a JEV-Ricciardo lineup in STR in 2013. Having said that; there are also rumors that Charles Pic is being linked with STR for a possible test in the Abu Dhabi December young guns test.

I agree, I think Jaime Alguersuari will make the cut for STR next year & be promoted to Red Bull in 2013.

Since Jaime's first points in Canada only 8 drivers scored more points then him... Drivers of Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes.

I guess Buemi will need to move over to Stock Cars or whatever is out there. Its funny, 'cause last year he was linked to RenaultGP.

I think Ricciardo would move to Toro Rosso before he makes the RBR jump, if he does end up making that jump.

For 2012:

Red Bull-Renault: Vettel/Webber
STR-Ferrari: Alguersauri/Riccardo
Team Caterham-Renault: Kovalinenn/Vergne

For 2013:

Red Bull-Renault: Vettel/Riccardo
STR-Ferrari: Alguersauri/Vergne

Im gonna suggest that Jarno Trulli is gone at Team Lotus next year, if he isnt id expect Vergne to TD at STR till a mid season seat becomes avalable, most probably at Hispania again, if not at Caterham.

Buemi i think could be gone in 2012, early this season he outshone Jamie, but now i think he will move on to another team or be used in the posible year old Red Bull Puegoet-Total 908 entry in Le Lans that Coulthard and Loeb are being lined up for.

Id expect the STR announcement to be at Abu Dhabi or Brazil.

I didn't wanna start up a new topic just for this so I thought, what the hell.

According to former Toro Rosso co-owner Gerhard Berger, he & Franz Tost considered signing Paul di Resta years ago but instead settled for Sebastian Vettel in 2007. Imagine that...

Funny that, that would have been around the time when Di Resta finished 1 place ahead of vettel in the formula 3 euro series championship. I guess they signed him to steal him from BMW sauber, where he put in an impressive performance in USA.

But Buemi is faster than Alguesuari?
He just hasn't had the luck of late, and sometimes split strategies cost him. I really don't see ALG as better, it's not enough. Might as well they drop both of them and bring in Ricciardo and the other boy.

difficult to say.

alguesuari has been improving quite a bit. At the same time though, ricciardo has put in impressive enough performances as well, considering the machinery hes in.

also though, I wonder if they might poach a renault driver. if kubica returns, one of senna or grosjean will be looking for a seat.

Alguersuari is very young, 21 and a half years old. And he got to F1 jumping a couple of categories, so he has comparatively less experience than everyone else. He supposedly has more room for improvement.
And if he ever moves to Red Bull, he can DJ the parties himself!
