Force India considers skipping P2

The team is currently re-assembling its cars in race trim - a job that would normally be completed this evening.

and they pulled out http://www.gpupdate.net/en/f1-news/277512/force-india-pulls-out-of-second-practice/

A detailed picture of the VJM05's sidepod. Neat packaging.

If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Looks exactly like the old one to me. I doubt they would start running with a new FW anyways, they need baselines.

Is the black bit behind the regular cascade a part of the front wing plane, or is it a second cascade? I just noticed that now.

the parting lines of the sidepod to the tub are also nicely thought out.

I´m a bit surprised by the fixations of the radiator to the inlet duct though -that cannot be the lightest or most reliable solution?

I did not long ago something with Boellhoff Snaplock -well worth taking a lok into that system as it is a reliable ,no tool mount and dismaount solution that also provides good vibration damping...

No that's the flaps of the front wing, but that bit is not adjustable like the rest of the upper flap, the sauber has the same thing.
I've found a way of ducting exhaust right to the diffuser edge like in 2011 and created a new wheel fastener that could allow sub 2 second pitstops see them here --> My 2013 F1 Concept Project

They run the configuration that is most similar to mp4/27. It would be interesting to see how this solution interacts with downwash over their sidepods.

Interestingly it's closer to the Barca 1 spec of the MP4-27 rather than the Barca 2 (current) spec.

I was expecting more of a Sauber/Red Bull solution, dunno why. Actually did Sauber move away from their solution to a more McLaren style? Or was that Williams?

Both have tested a more "McLaren" style solution.

Both of them did.

@raymond maybe they have new sidepods coming to bring it closer to the current MaCa style
