it's a student protest, not an extremist group.

at worst i think it would be a group protest outside the GP grounds, a good old fashioned Canadian riot, not 3 or 4 people doing something really destructive.

they only mention the GP to get global recognition (and its working). If they did maliciously and physically sabotage the GP in a terrorist manner it would cause an undesirable backlash, the likes of which no student would want.

I've seen students bring down 3 different governments, all in the same country. I was living in said country the whole time. If I didn't tell you they were students you'd think they were extremists.

Yes, this has happened, first thing that came to mind when i read your reply was the polytechneon, but that was political in nature.

That was about an oppressive government and the educated class of society rising up against it.
This, bottom line, is about money. no one is going to put lives at risk for money.

This is Canada for Christ's sake. What next?

GP cancelled over scary looking shadow. Bernie Eccelstone was quoted as saying "well it looked like a big bug eyed monster with a pointy stick, so we thought we can't possibly take any risks staging this race."

Teams up and down the pitlane supported the move with the consensus being that it would be wrong to put team personnel in danger when the shadow could strike at any time. Local police insist they have the shadow under control but their protestations were ignored by the race organisers.

Down with the Canadian GP!

Get a hold of yourself for god sake...

The only person who mentioned Terrorist is YOU.
The guys threating to close the GP is normal teenagers that are obviously pissed.

Doesn´t mean they will strap bombs on themselves and blow the place.
I can see how the American government has impregnated every living thing here on earth about Terror threats... so sad to see.

no need for this guys, just set the start time to 9:00 am. no self respecting student will get up for anything at that hour.

Or we could just make the whole island the GP takes place on a no smoking zone and advertise free pasta in a restaurant a few miles away.

Seriously though, they need to go friggin ruin some other sport.

I dont see them trying to ban ice hockey.

Some student groups are hardening their positions and digging in for a summer of discontent.

Screw 'em.
