Steering wheel buttons

I've found an interesting button on Red Bull's steering wheel. I think this button is the cause of their many DNF's this year. The name of the button is "FAIL"

Does anyone know the real purpose of this button? Maybe you know other fun buttons on other steering wheels? Post it here!

I've just found the DRINKS button on the MP4-22 steering I believe it brings out the pop-up menu of available drinks!

1) Shaken - flat spot a tyre
2) Stirred - spin

Goes with the spy theme, doesn't it? Perhaps they could switch sponsors from Johnny Walker to Martini. In the opening of their new "Communications Centre" they already famously served "Spy Valley" wine (That was a nice touch, though, having a wine from New Zealand). Many a journalist must've pinched a bottle that evening, the perfect memorabilia.

I heard Mac had loads of LC buttons left over from the old days of launch control, it seems it was reprogrammed to "Lose Championship" on Lewis' car in Brazil.
Ferrari changed their traction control TC button to a "Take Championship" function.

I believe that "FAIL" button is to command all systems into a fail-safe mode just to get the car going again, and hopefully back into the race, or pits.

Maybe some adjustments to suit wet weather tyres.

Zoom in and you'll read:

I - inters
W - wets
XW - extreme wets

PS: maybe just a pit option request in case of radio failure.

Thank you Mod, now that you have posted this it seems much more clearer to me.

And the picture shows the switch is most likely in the "DRY" setup. DRY INTERS WETS EXTREME WETS

I don't think so. In that case, the logo would say "Jean Taylor", not "Alice".

A question about the picture Manchild posted: what the ... means "7. A new device that regulates throttle response"? No, not again, pleeze. I sincerely hope they have checked with FIA if it falls under regulations... sigh. (I'm sure Manchild will say that FIA checked with Ferrari first to make the regulations, but...)

Just another question: why do they use these kind of knobs?

Don't you have to take one of your hands from the steering wheel to turn them? Or do you have to have magic thumbs?

How do you twist the knob while the entire thing is vibrating and you have to steer at the same time? (talking about questions that deserve a joke).
