what is this sound?

as the furai drives off from the pits it has weeeeeeeeooooooooohh (haha) sounds to it. What is it? I don't think it is the rotary as you don't here the same sound when it is going by at speed. anyone know?

Sounds like the engine on throttle and a combination of gear whine and backfiring on decel.

Crazy design! What an eye catching design. If the Furai does drive in anger in competition, what category would it race in, LMP1? It may need to undergo wholesale changes, it appears as though there are quite a few design elements that are on the car that are more fashion, and not so much function, but regardless, it's a stunner.

The gear whine reminds me of the sound from the WRC rally cars sequential transmissions.

That whine comes from the super strong Straight cut gears used in most race cars, however usually you can't hear it over the engine.

I think the noise initially reffered to is something to do with a turbo?

You can also hear the launch control as he sits in the pits. Beautiful noise, reminds me of rallying.
