Pole will be roughly 2.5 seconds faster than fastest P2 time. So low 32, that's incredibly fast.
Counting on it I debated quite a bit for this one. I went with a 1:32.414 for my fantasy league pick.

I'd just like to remind everyone about Malaysia - having a bad Saturday is not necessarily an indication of a bad Saturday.
A bad Saturday is 100% a bad Saturday.

cherish these momemnts peopld. We are witnessing a special once in a generation driver ascending to a higher level above his peers. His speed in that car is just amazing. Bottas has no answer.

Last time we saw a red helmet in a Silver car, looked something like this.

Wow, Hamilton looks so comfortable in the car! fantastic laps by him. I still think that Ferrari will improve at leat to be second, but I cant see right now them stealing the pole from Lewis. As expected this track suits Mercedes at least in 2/3 of it. Bottas is haven great problems with underbraking recently.

Fantastic debut by Carlos, a good amount of laps, good speed and no mistakes. He cant ask for more right now.

Yep I made that point a few weeks ago.
Alongside the other greats we won't realise how good he is until he is gone and there is a Lewis Hamilton sized hole that is unable to be filled.

He did something in Malaysia that only the likes of Senna and Schumacher could do. Put a car on Pole that had no right to be there. With everybody asking 'how?'. Then we have him being a whole second clear of everyone in changeable conditions in Italy (IIRC).
He is now doing the other thing. Be 0.5sec ahead of a team mate in the sister car consistently.

FIA trying new onboard microphones( I don't know whether it's just the positioning or a new type of microphone) on Sergio's car to tackle the "lack of sound" complaints.
Sounds quite different too!! 8)

Actually I am from one of these countries so I know the answer to my own question perfectly well, but I just wanted to bring it up! ;)
Ha, no problem. Well I learned something.

So they got it wrong then. Must be annoying for the Kiwi's.

No doubt if we had an Irish F1 driver the English would claim them too :P

seeing Schumi's red helmet in the mercedeses hits me right in the feels. i just saw a vid of his amazing pole lap in Monaco, and how he was just blasting through the chicanes. had the same feels.

Very different. I slightly prefer it but still sounds very weedy (thin) for such a powerful engine.

it sounds like listening through a pringles box. i miss the deeper grunt tones, which are there IRL but through this microphone disappear.
personally i never had a problem with the onboard engine sound, the problem is volume. It's just too soft. why not simply up the volume/boost the volume.

i also think the issue is more with the camera itself than the microphone. i think a GoPro cam just below the airbox, right above the driver's helmet would be much more exciting.
for good measure, if they'd mount 2 GoPro camera's (well, not actual GoPro's but built-in tiny camera's) and angle them right, you could actually get 3D support.

hell, with a little programming, the car's tubs and shapes are easily to figure out and program and you could get a much more vivid 3D experience. would do massive good on 3D-supported televisions. you can simply open up a pay-channel to be able to use it. log in to a F1's official site with a live 3D-HD streaming and use a password and personal code to enter and make do.

Only if successful

Example,

Coulthard, Di Resta, Mcnish - Scottish.

Stewart, Clark - British.

I'd imagine Scotland do the same ?

Palmer English, Button British ?

Anyway, back to COTA, Hows the weather looking for fp3 and qualy? Anyone in Austin ?
