long time AMG was not allowed by Mercedes to put flares on the front fenders ..that has definitely changed..

makes that one look a bit average almost:

That was an Evo 2 190E Cosworth Marcush,

AMG were involved with the increasing the stroke of the engine, remember back then AMG and Mercedes were seperate entities.
Everything else was done in house I think, although im pretty sure 747heavy would know for definite.

I seem to remember that Snobeck started to race 190s in the french series and AMG at the beginning was one of some tuners (like Snobeck) campaigning Benz in DTM...
but I have a soft spot for that EVO2 ...

that´s the track on which all AMGs are developped on..lap courtesy Roland Asch .
I happen to know one of the Drivers doing all the endurance testing for AMG on the Nordschleife (surprisingly it´s outsourced). And yes he once totalled one of those there....

It's got steel brakes, hasn't it?

Upgraded brakes include bigger 390mm front discs, stopped by six-piston calipers, and 360mm discs at the rear, with four-piston calipers
^^^^
From Autocar

I think its steel, as the Ceramic brakes are always listed as an option even on the SLS. And there is no option of it on Black series options list....
But looking at the braking spec, I dont think it will need much more stopping power...unless you want the white of your eyes on the windscreen!

Thanks JET. I don't think that any other Black Series AMG car has got ceramic brakes. SL65 Black also had steel brakes if I'm not mistaken. C63 Black is a fabulous car although as Caito stated it doesn't look much black

You can however, have it in black :D

I get the impression this car would need dog tags if they painted it black, thats how mean looking it would be.

It's a nice looking car, especially from the back. It floats my boat quite a bit more than the SLS.
