One thing about DRD on the whole is that it isn't something you can just copy and make work with a few days of CFD work. The way the switching works with the pressure differentials etc, it is very hard to figure out. So if lotus/mercedes/sauber can get theirs to work then they will have an advantage that other teams will have to work hard to make up.

One more problem about the DRD systems is that they have to be tuned for different air pressures. Not to mention if it rains that screws with the system horribly

Not to mention the problem that arises with air reattachment. With the f-duct the driver could release it a fraction before braking, just enough to stop the stalling and letting air reattach to the rear wing. With DRD, you have the problem that it remains active until below a certain speed, and then it still needs a bit of time for the airflow to reattach. This results both in a longer braking distance (the wing normally aids in braking, but not when stalled) and unpredictability.

May I ask was there a problem with Kimi's KERS at the end of the race? Because Hamilton was more than 1 sec quicker than Kimi or the Merc is so much better car.

Think the Merc was just better, even when Kimi had pitted and had fresh tyres on he was still mostly slower than Hamilton who wasn't on fresh rubber.

I heard it was a "flat battery" problem! So yes, maybe kimmi overuse it or was simply harvesting problem. Some sort electronic gremmlin... We all now that if you flattered the battery completely you loose quite significant performance in therms of lower efficiency (steep fall of capacity curve) and also durability... That could be also huge factor in therms of race performance in last laps and could cost up to +0.3s per lap.

His kers definetely worked when ham overtook him. You can see him using it on start/finish straight.

The pace was actually very good, but the pace of hamilton at the end was insane... Did kimi used old tires at last stint?

No, he just stopped significantly earlier, meaning he had to pace himself much more.
