In fact I actually like those two cars.

The dish of the first one is quite an idea I have never understood but it stays in my head for it was original.

The Ligier was indeed something strange but not that much if you look at the sizes of the airboxes of other F1 cars at that time. The Tyrell 007 also had a really high airbox however a little smaller if you look at it from the front. I can imagine though that it is a very effective anti-roll solution and excellent advertising space for Gitanes ;)

If it looks right, it probably is right...............

In this case looks and performance were pretty well turdish......Manchild, I think you have unearthed the ugliest car ever. Even some so called uglies often have a quirky charm (like the March at the top of this thead ;)). This thing is plain ghastly.

Yuk, yuk, yuk..............urggghhhh

Hey hey........

Let not forget the ferrari with those 'X-wings' - to me that says that they didnt know what was going on with the aero more than that maclaren.

Ferrari? I think that it was Tyrrell who introduced X wings in 1997 http://www.f1technical.net/f1db/cars/804 but I don't find them ugly.

Indeed Tyrell was the first team with the Xwings in 1997. Most off the other teams copied in 1998 with the introducing off te smaller cars, to win some extra downforce. But the FIA has forbid it afther a couple off races because of the safety. And the Tyrell where immidiatly 1 second slower then with the x wings. The only that really gain with the x wings was tyrell.
