Williams FW37 Mercedes Speculation Thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I like that nose concept. It only seems simple, but what separates it from some of the concepts we have seen so far is that the nose is pushed forward ahead of the wing, which preserves a very high "under belly" while still maintaining the low nose tip in the regulated area.

Dear FIA, if you read this, please pm me for a redesign of the Technical Regulations to avoid finger nose shapes for 2016! :-)

nice front wing and front brake ducts...
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

Hmmm, apart from the nose and smaller sidepods, I dont see any major difirences (witch is good i would guess). Front brake ducts are a bit diffirent, similar to FW35 ones with blown wheel nuts.

An 'M' shaped second cross section :?: (inverted U + T) ?
Or is it just just a 'T'...

I think I'm seeing mercedes W05 style front lower wishbones.

Huge dissapointment for the ladies after last years 'appendage'......looks like the williams took a cold shower.
anyway, that's really ugly. Williams had one of the best looking cars last season, this could be one of the ugliest.
looks a bit like an interpretation of last year's Mclaren.

Disappointed, really, expected better from Williams. Assuming this really is the real deal.

It's not their job to create a beautiful car. It's their job to build a fast one. Form follows function, etc.

This year we may see even less variety than last year. But this is what happens if you tighten the rules.

Indeed, it looks like they've combined the two lower wishbones all the way to the chassis.
edit: Nope, they didn't

Remarkable sharp edges at the upper edge of the nose tip. I guess they had to flatten it to stay below the maximum height.

I think that it has a standard front suspention. Look at the front right suspention, you can see that the lower wishbone has two parts, just that the front one is larger.

Personally, I have, I also imagined what beautiful or desirable in the nose area! But Pat Symonds, had already announced that what would come to circumvent the requirements of the FIA!

Yep, you're right. I was wrong. It was almost invisible on the front left corner
