What about Kimi's 1:23.477? Autosport.com reports ultrasoft tyres, while F1Today reports supersofts :wtf:

F1today shows the latest compound Kimi used while Autosport shows the one Kimi used for his fastest lap so it's ultrasofts.

Interesting insight from Ted Kravitz. It seems he has based his statements on information gathered from engineers in the pit lane.

Of course, it's not really a simulation of a real race if you only use one kind of tyre...
Yeah, but it gives a very good idea of where they stand. Last year, Hamilton only used hard tyres for his race sim during the first test in Barcelona, but it was a whole minute quicker than RBR.

Delta SS-US = 0.8 according to Ted Kravitz
So this effectively puts Hulkenberg on P1 by 0.4s for the time being. I sure hope this doesn't mean that Mercedes EPU leaped forward in relation to Ferrari.
Yes and FI was sandbagging.
wait until they turn it up full taps!
I think FI was already running pretty much flat out. The only "sandbagging" here was the slower tyres, which is not sandbagging at all per se.

And when Nico was caught kinda off-guard , he admitted the car had fuel for basically only a few laps (3-4 or so laps of fuel would put it right up for the Q3 run).
http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sp ... st-updates (3:08)

It wouldn't make sense otherwise, it isn't beneficial to sandbag THAT much for other teams for FI to be able to come up on top by 5 tenths and still have a nice reserve of performance.

Also, if there was this much sandbagging going on, the McL would be much higher on the table. Being in the middle of the bottom half of the sheets, even though it's only testing, is the last thing McL wants at this particular time.

Well we have seen worst winter testing from McLaren. the year they had the octopus exhausts was one of the worst. They got thing sorted out by the first race. So i wont count them out just yet.

Well Mercedes is a full test ahead of the rest. They effectively were doing two testing days in one each day. They brought new parts to this test. We likely will not see new development parts from the rest until the next test. This is a significant advantage for Mercedes. I expect them to repeat at the next test.

Encouraging lap times of STR on the Medium compound. I guess their last years talk about having one of the best chassis of the field isn't garbage after all.

Mercedes is a second faster than last year, Ferrari needs to find 1.5 seconds since last year to bother them.

This could be a rubbish season then, McLaren still at the back Mercedes way out front, ferrari alone in second, red bull in the middle of the pack, maybe fi and Williams fighting, I hope this is not how it turns out :(

Compared to last year"s Spanish GP qualifying, the Renault has the same Mercedes powered Lotus top speed
And Red Bull has its the same top speed too.

Has the Renault lost DF compared to the Merc E23? I dont think so. The RB12 has definitely more DF than the Renault but that doesnt explain the 10kmh difference. IMO
So the Renault might have a more powerful engine... or these numbers are no where near the truth (regarding RBR)...
FELIPE MASSA 334,2
2 8 ROMAIN GROSJEAN 333,5
3 13 PASTOR MALDONADO 332,8
