Kubica happy with his 2008 achievements

Right up until the penultimate race of the year, BMW Sauber F1 Team driver Robert Kubica was still in the thick of the fight for the Formula One World Championship. Although it was not to be for the 23-year-old, Robert views his year as a great success.

"It would have been excellent for myself to finish in the top three at the end of the season. You never know whether you'll get another chance over the next five years or so to lead the World Championship after seven races," says Robert, who moved to the top of the Drivers' Championship following his victory at the Canadian Grand Prix. "Our consistency and reliability is what kept us in the battle for the championship."

"I was always quick, and had very few errors," says the Pole, looking back on a Formula One season that draws to an end next weekend in Brazil. "Of course, I am very ambitious and always give one hundred percent, but you still always have the feeling that we could have done better. However, we should be happy with what we have achieved."
