Busy yet effective start for Force India

Nico Hülkenberg made his Force India race weekend debut in the opening practice session for the Australian Grand Prix. The 24-year-old German driver made a solid start around the 5.303km Albert Park circuit. Adrian Sutil also put the VJM04 through its paces as Paul di Resta sat out the first session. Adrian worked through his scheduled programme and completed a total of 19 laps.

Dominic Harlow, Circuit Engineering Director comments; “There were two objectives for the first practice session; for Nico to gather as much data on the prime tyre as possible, in particular wear life and degradation and for Adrian to collect data on and evaluate a new rear wing. Behind the scenes the team were concentrating on the cooling of the engine, KERS and brakes in particular. Paul drove this circuit last year, so it’s not completely new for him. Over the course of the season Adrian and Paul will both share their car with Nico on a Friday, so we’re simply keeping things balanced and taking a slightly longer term view.”
