Mark Webber and Esteban Gutierrez have been given grid penalties following today's Chinese Grand Prix. The stewards analysed two collisions and decided that the Red Bull driver and the Sauber driver were at fault.

Mark Webber was given a 3-place grid penalty for causing a collision with Jean-Eric Vergne. The Australian attempted to pass the Frenchman on lap 15 of the Chinese Grand Prix, but soon found himself with front wing damage as he came into contact with the Toro Rosso. Webber said after the race that Vergne took a very outside line, making him believe that he would leave the gap open.

Vergne on his behalf turned in without knowing Webber was on his right, causing the right hand side to get into contact with Mark Webber's Red Bull RB8, causing damage that force both men into their pit boxes.

Gutierrez meanwhile will drop 5 places on the Bahrain grid for running into the back of Adrian Sutil at turn 14 on lap 5. The Mexican's Sauber was badly damage because of the impact while Sutil managed to return to the pits, only to retire there.
