Kimi Räikkönen fascinated an enthusiastic crowd of people when he raced along the streets of the beautiful capital of Hungary. The Finnish driver represented the Scuderia Ferrari during the Nagy Futam (Great Race) venue which took part for the third time in Budapest.

F1technical’s Balazs Szabo attended the event and followed the 2007 Formula 1 champion.

Kimi arrived just before the official press conference started. He enjoyed the company of his former team-mate David Coulthard with whom he chatted and shared a few smiles before the stream of questions.

Kimi was content with Ferrari’s giant steps which the Italian team made over the winter.

“Of course after last year the season kicked off better. We already have a race win and some podium finishes, so we are getting better step by step. The team did a great job over the winter and we took the right decisions."

The 2007 champion revealed Ferrari will be aggressive with its development programme, therefore he is hopeful that they can put some pressure on the shoulders of their main rival.

“We have continue this path, then we can catch Mercedes. I hope we can prove that already on the next race weekend.”

After Kimi’s former team-mate, Fernando Alonso left Ferrari, he was joined by his friend Sebastian Vettel. He said they get along very well and he doesn’t expect any problems in the future either.

“I have probably never been in a better team than now at Ferrari. With Sebastian we know each other for a long time and we have a good relationship.

"Currently it is not our aim to fight against each other. We have to improve the car to be able to fight for the world title. When we get there, we can start racing with each other. ”

The reborn Räikkönen was fain to speak about his child, Robin and the fatherhood. He even revealed that he has tried to change nappy, but he thinks that his girlfriend Minttu can do it much better.

“It is a very different thing to be a father because it brings a lot of happiness. It hasn’t really changed the racing. It is just the life which has changed.”

After the interview Kimi stromed through the centre of Budapest two times in an F10 which was Ferrari’s title contender back in 2010.
