Soucek to test for Toyota

Andy Soucek will test this Friday the Toyota TF105 of Jarno Trulli and Ralf Schumacher as a prize for winning the Spanish F3 championship title last season. Soucek is already in France to accomplish one of his biggest dreams. Next Friday, June 30, he will get into the Toyota TF105 used last season by Ralf Schumacher and Jarno Trulli in the F1 World Championship. The test will take place at the French circuit of Paul Ricard.

It will be a great opportunity for Andy to show his skills in front of all the members of the Toyota F1 Team. The test also comes at a very good moment for him, after his first victory in the World Series by Renault, prelude of the highest Motorsport category, in which Andy is making an impressive debut this year.

Andy, who turned 21 last 14th of June, will then accomplish another stage of his development as a driver, which started in 1997 in karting and where he has been able to achieve victory in the Spanish Formula 3 Championship – both in the junior (2002) and absolute (2005) categories.

This season he had the opportunity to jump to the international scene. It is Andy's first year in the World Series and, after only five races, he has already won his first race. The driver from Madrid achieved victory in the first race of the meeting held at the Istanbul circuit, fighting with drivers that already have some years of experience in that kind of cars.

Andy Soucek is eagerly awaiting the test that will made him the seventeenth Spanish driver to get into a Formula 1 car and the second to test a Toyota after Borja García, his predecessor in the title, tested it last year.

Andy Soucek “I am looking forward to it. I know that it is only a test, that I am not fighting for an official position not even for a test driver role. It is a prize for the title and I will do it the best I can to make a good impression in a F1 team."
