Giedo van der Garde has given some insight in the announcement of spyker F1 that the Dutchman signed a contract as Friday driver with them. Van der Garde explained to f1racing that the contract with Super Aguri has been broken.

Van der Garde: "The deal we had closed with Super Aguri has worn out because of problems. Luckily we still had good contacts with the Spyker F1 Team. They have arranged everything fast and smoothly. We've arranged everything this night. My new contract has the same conditions as the deal I had with Super Aguri. I'm test- and reserve driver and I'll drive an hour and a half on Friday's during the Grands Prix weekends."

Van der Garde made his F1 debut only yesterday for the Super Aguri F1 Team. Due to a mechanical problem, the Dutchman only completed 4 laps while he actually tried to obtain his Super License. Van der Garde didn't want to give comment on what was the problem at Super Aguri.
