F1 teams want to get rid of fuel burning laps to become more eco-friendly

Pat Symonds, the ING Renault F1 Team's Director of Engineering, has declared on the podcast on the team's website that the Formula One teams want to get rid of the fuel burning laps during the third part of the qualifying session format and this as the sport aims to become more eco-friendly.

Symonds said: "The so-called fuel burning is no good and interestingly we're talking about that tomorrow with a view to getting rid of it for 2008."
