On 14th January, the BMW Sauber F1.08 was publicly launched. Peter Sauber, consultant of the BMW Sauber F1 Team, talks about his emotions during the car launch held in the BMW Welt in Munich and about his hopes for the 2008 Formula One season.

The BMW Sauber F1 Team is on the way to entering the third Formula One season of its history and for the third time, the Munich and Hinwil based squad unveiled a new challenger: following the F1.06 and F1.07, the BMW Sauber F1.08 is ready to battle it out for the team's maiden win at the pinnacle of motor racing, now.

Peter Sauber is impressed by the new racing car for Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica. "I had the chance of taking a short look at it even before the launch and I have to admit that it really appeals to me," says the Swiss. "And this applies not only to the felicitous design and the beautiful colour - I always liked white - alone but there are many, many beautiful details on the car that have been created with a lot of dedication."

As the BMW Sauber F1 Team succeeded in establishing as the third power on the Formula One grid, in 2007, driver and team seniors have raised the bar to a higher level, for the 2008 season. The stated goal: to make it to the highest step on the podium. Sauber explains: "The expectations are higher than in the past and the team wants to secure several podium finishes. We will have to wait and see to find out what progress has been made by our competitors."
