It's your average shark-fin connecting to the rear-wing. :)

Yes, it is. It has a slight triangular profile, with the bottom being wider that the top, which is ery thin. The slot in the rear wing can be seen in the second photo.

Yeah the beam wing has a slot on the backside like the main beam of the rear wing.

I find this interesting: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/85425
Maybe because they don't have somebody of Adrian's or Ross' caliber at the helm of their technical staff, they need very experienced driver to give technical feedback and show positive direction. Probably Nico doesn't have much experience for this role.

From that shot it looks like the exhaust runs all the way down and back behind the diffuser completely. Must be an optical illusion.

I suspect it's hooked up to some sort of venting system, where the exhaust gases are fired straight out of the building =)

Most likely!
Otherwise the exits are below the ground.

Anyway, Williams car improved quite a bit. Nice to see them fighting in top-10 again!

WOW ! That's a masterpiece of a pitot-tube array. They must have a new front wing and/or new splitter if they are so keen to get some flow data on that area.
