Mclaren was running the 2008 spec wing again. I understand the first time was do to rain and they wanted to increase down force levels. However today they were running it again this came a day after a green areo substance was shown on the side of the car. Mclaren said the substance was commonly used but if it was so common they wouldnt need to explain what it was. Based on these two things i am becoming concerned with mclaren's progress i havent seen any other team having to switch to the 2008 spec wing, why are they still using it. I'm just looking for some insight on this should i be worried or is this a normal occurrence in the development of a new car. Thanks
that's funny thanks for the warning. I'm a mclaren fan but i just started following f1 in 2007 so i dont know everything i just was looking for some insight from someone with more experience.
So McLaren are not having any particular problems, on the contrary, everything is running as it usually does in tests. Even their KERS is reliable enough to run 110 laps without any problems.

Interviewer: The most exciting moment during the race weekend? Kimi: I think it's the race start, always. Interviewer: The most boring? Kimi: Now.

No probs - that's why I'm here
Just to back up me claims:
"Heikki Kovalainen was the fastest man in an '09 machine, although his MP4-24 was fitted with a modified '08 rear wing as the team are still waiting for a new high-downforce version." - Autosport
