Highly unlikely in my opinion.

Once Vettel figures out how to drive these cars he will start enjoying the fruits of having Ricciardo´s extra weight bolted to the floor itself and can start exploiting that properly.
You think... Once Vettel figures out how to drive these mostly corrupt car he will start enjoying the fruits of wining Ricci.
Maybe Webber really has an application on his smartphone with - 'off/on Vettel's car mode' :D

What a setback for both Frijns and Wolff...was really looking forward to the pair of them. Hopefully Frijns wil also get a second chance like Wolff in FP1 in Germany.

What happened at Mercedes, did Rosberg copy Hamilton's set up before it was created and made it quicker  ?

How does one copy something prior to it existing?

Hamilton had to abort his fastest lap because of Ericsson's yellow flag....

What a relief. I didn't watch it but from live timing txt:
"Hamilton told he is losing two tenths in the first sector and three in the last". Rosberg had ERS problems.

According to autosport /ticker, Rosbergs ERS problems were only momentarily. It certainly didn't play a factor into the times he drove.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Is the gap between the front runners normally 5+ seconds, this seems very large.

It's not knowable, it is speculation.

Vettel imo is a bit like Button, needs a car to suit his driving style - also speculation.

With Ric, coming from Torro Rosso in the middle of the pack where there is much lower grip and you have to find the limit all the time, I think it is really to a drivers benefit to spend his time in the lower cars but it is a baptism by fire - speculation also.

But I believe there may be some truth to both of the above. Bottom line is that nobody knows.

The Mercedes looks amazing in the Silverstone corners. Great footage by the BBC there which just watched hamilton come down through Copse, Maggots, becketts and chapel in one camera shot.

3 place grid penalty I guess.
No further action against Nico Rosberg after passing Kvyat in a red-flag situation during P1. According to the stewards, Rosberg was driving in 'a safe and reasonable manner' throughout' and Rosberg 'took reasoble action avoiding a car he thought was in difficulty'

Not sure about Daniel.

How much difference is there between drivers as to the way they drive the cars that could actually result in failures?

When Hamilton has a fast car he always seems to break the thing!

Great to see Wolff out driving, great day for female racing drivers.

The fact that Vettel, a 4 time World Champion, has to figure out how to drive his car midway though the season is more telling.

That would be just his luck. Speed to win the races he is good at but mechanical failures stopping him from doing so.

Really excited to see Alonso putting in some good long runs, I love watching the guy at the start of the race.
